Vulkanija Adventure Park

Three million years ago, the last Slovenian volcano erupted near the town of Grad in the Goričko region. You can relive this event at the Vulkanija Adventure Park, which stands on the crater of the former volcano.

On an immersive journey through the volcanic underground, you will learn about volcanoes and their effects, especially our Goričko volcano. Here you’ll find volcanic games, VR glasses featuring supervolcanoes, a 4D film with special effects about the creation of the universe and life on Earth, a walk through lava tubes where you can touch real geodes, and an elevator ride into the heart of the volcano. From the magma chamber, the mole Oli will take you back to the surface with an adrenaline filled underground 3D train ride. In the geological museum, you can explore a mineral exhibition, discover our special mineral olivine, cook rocks and create your own volcano in a virtual geo sandbox.

During the May holidays as well as the summer and autumn school holidays, you can take Oli’s train through the volcanic landscape and visit a basalt tuff quarry along the way.
